Safety planning begins before the entrance
Changes in municipal traffic information make it harder to gain a complete overview before an event. At Mano Solutions, dialogue with the municipality and a site walk-through with the organiser remain central to preparation.
When preparing an event, we also look beyond its boundaries. Roadworks can affect access. Another event can bring more people through the same streets. A closure can affect both guest arrivals and supplier deliveries.
We use the Danish Road Directorate’s traffic information to investigate major works and other conditions that need to be considered.
A complete overview is harder to obtain
The Road Directorate’s OTMAN system closed on 1 October 2026. It was used to share municipal information about roadworks and events affecting traffic.
According to the Road Directorate, information from many municipalities may therefore be missing from Trafikinfo.dk during a transition. Information can reappear as municipalities share data through the new solution. In the meantime, the Directorate refers users to individual municipalities for local information.
This makes initial preparation more demanding. The traffic map helps identify matters requiring closer investigation. When it is less complete, information must be found and confirmed through other channels.
The municipality is a central point of contact
Dialogue with the municipality is already our primary starting point. What other events are planned? Which permits have been issued? Are activities or works likely to affect delivery?
These answers help us understand the conditions in which our event must operate. Two separately planned events may share access routes or affect the same arrival areas. It is important to identify those connections early in discussions between the municipality, organiser and safety leads.
Seeing the site for ourselves
Our safety assessments also depend on walking through the event area with the organiser. Together, we examine the actual conditions and discuss how the site will be used before, during and after the event.
Where will guests arrive from? Where will deliveries enter? Which routes must work at peak times? Where could activities obstruct one another?
The walk-through tests plans against reality and gives everyone a shared understanding of the conditions to manage.
Turning knowledge into practical decisions
Preparation creates value when information becomes action. An affected access route must be reflected in the plan. If another event changes arrival patterns, we assess that with the organiser. If site conditions require a different solution, it must be agreed before delivery.
Traffic information, municipal dialogue and the physical walk-through complement each other. The changes to Trafikinfo.dk underline the importance of knowing your sources and confirming local conditions. A good safety plan begins with understanding the site and its surroundings.
